The MV 1600H 3-axis vertical machining center (VMC) combines durable construction with an elegant design, featuring a rigid boxway Z-axis and linear guideways on the X- and Y-axis. Rapid rates are 36m/min on the X- and Y-axis and 24m/min on the Z-axis.

The work area spans 63.0" x 31.5" while the table has a capacity of 3,300 lb and measures 66.9" x 33.5". The MV 1600H has a heavy-cast construction, dampening reverberations and giving operators greater precision and improved surface finishing capability.

Standard features include a 40-tool automatic tool changer (ATC) with big and heavy tool functionality. The comprehensive chip management system has an external chip conveyor, chip flush in the bed, spindle flush, and an extra coolant gun, all designed to maximize machine uptime.

The Fanuc 0i-MF control comes with a 200 block look-ahead and Manual Guide i software preinstalled, allowing operators to program operations at the machine for increased versatility.

The customized automatic guided vehicle (AGV) system uses a FH-B50066 bolt-on AGV drive, single-directional unit. The system features two drive wheels – one at the front, a second at the rear. Each end independently follows the guidepath for accurate, consistent travel and smooth conveyor transfers.

The unit transfers between conveyors at multiple manufacturing points and features one powered conveyor deck for automatic load transfers.

It can travel up 50m/min along a 100ft magnetic tape guide. Floor positioned radio frequency identification device (RFID) tags control speed and obstacle sensor views.

Photocells on the AGV’s conveyor deck are used for load control functions, slow and stop functions, and they verify the load is secure during travel. Optical communication devices coordinate the conveyor operation between the AGV and stationary conveyor units.
